Summer Reading Program 2023

Reading has many cognitive benefits and is especially important over the summer months. By participating in our library’s Summer Reading Program, kids and teens will be ready to learn and engage at the start of the next school year.

The program runs from Saturday, June 3rd until Saturday, July 29th. Everyone, ages 0-18 are encouraged to enter. Any reading counts- you can be read to, listen to audiobooks, read comics, graphic novels, picture books, chapter books–even the back of cereal boxes count!

Paper registrations will be available at the library starting June 3rd at 9 am. You may register at any time throughout the program (it’s never too late to register). Paper reading logs are used to both keep track of time spent reading and as your entry into the grand prize drawings. The more you read-the more chances you have to win!

After the program ends on July 29th, we will draw one name from each of three age groups. These lucky winners will receive a $50 Barnes & Noble gift card. This year, there will be an additional prize for the most number of minutes read.

Storytime

Storytime is held on Tuesdays at 10:30 am-check our calendar for an up to date schedule.

Storytime at the Osceola Public Library is Early Literacy Based fun for the whole family. There are songs, rhymes, finger-plays, and-of course-books! Following Storytime, join us for a fun craft or art project (some of these can be messy, so dress appropriately).

Every Storytime is crafted to support early literacy development. Books, rhymes, and activities are carefully selected and sequenced with the six aspects of early literacy in mind. You can see these in the diagram below-
